An old favorite

On Saturday, K. and I took a walk to the farmers market, where we procured the most magical of weekend breakfast food items: cider doughnuts. We also got some hot cider, and some seriously frost-bitten fingers! It was much colder than it seemed when we first left our building, and on our way, we couldn't help fantasizing about the soft serve trucks that will line the sidewalks in a few months, replacing the dusting of snow. For this outing, I pulled out this soft, warm shift dress that I remember wearing (with layers of tights) to visit K. in our city before I moved here several years ago. Adding some different accessories made the dress feel new again, while the cozy familiarity offered comfort on a particularly chilly afternoon. For a dress I bought on a whim in 2008—from the sale rack of a pretty decidedly un-hip department store in my hometown, no less—it has proven pretty useful.

Lost my lipstick on the cider cup in that bottom right photo.
